Welcome to the website of the Madison County Democratic Party. We invite you to explore our site, our links, and our ideas.

We also invite you to join us to help with the work we do here in Madison County!  The Madison County Democratic Party is an all-volunteer organization. We seek to serve the people of Madison by encouraging and supporting Democratic candidates who address issues that matter to Madison County residents. We work to ensure that our representative government is truly representing all the people.

Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, founded the Democratic party in 1792. The Democratic party is the oldest political party in America today. Since 2006 the Democratic party has held the majority in both the House of Representatives and the United States Senate. Barack Obama, the current President of the United States, is the 15th Democrat to hold the office.

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.  We are the change that we seek.”

President Barack Obama

This page is dedicated to the memory of James Talmadge Ledford who passed in April, 2010. He believed that politics did not matter; “We are going to do what is right for the people.”
